1. Artificial Intelligence Foundations Of Computational Agents

The first book on our list is a textbook aimed at junior to senior undergraduate students and first-year graduate students. The book focuses on Artificial intelligence and intelligent computational agents as a way to introduce the reader to AI fundamentals. The book balances theory and experiment, showing how to link them together, and develop the science of AI. Apart from being a book written for first-year graduate students it has also been choosen as number one on this list as it covers AI which is the larger field in which Machine Learning and Deep Learning are just sub-fields.

2. Machine Learning Yearning

The second book on the list is written by one of the leading figures within machine learning and online learning, namly Andew Ng. Andrew is a Standford University professor and he has co-founded several companies e.g. Coursera and deeplearning.ai. In his short book Machine Learning Yearning, Andrew passes on his knowlegde on how to structure machine learning projects. The book is less then 100 pages long and can therefore be read within a day or two depending on how deep your knowlegde within the area are, as you might need to familiarize yourself with several terms, if you’re new to Machine Learning theory / Machine Learning projects.
